Junghans Mega Solar Watch - Shows incorrect date
At the end of February 2008 the date on my Junghans Mega Solar did not automatically change
to take account of the extra day (29th) and displayed a day ahead.
Consulted manual: Section 4.1 stated the watch would automatically correct for leap year.
It didn't.
Tried a "Manual transmitter call many times with no success.
Various web searches and a look at Junghans own website did not throw up an immediate
solution.
Located on a US websiteb that made a reference to doing a hardware reset but with no
instructions how to do so.
By trial I have found the way to do the hardware reset is to
1. Depress and hold the button that is used to flip the display between date and seconds,
until the date display goes blank and hands stop*.(takes about 10 seconds)
2. Release the button so the hand return to 12 O'clock and the watch completes the
transmitter call.
3. When the watch restarts I then completed a time zone adjustment to suit the UK being 1
hour different to European central time.
*Holding the button in for more than 3 seconds initiate a manual transmitter call which
causes the hands to move back to 12 o'clock. The hardware reset stops the hands moving
until the button is released as per 2 above.
